RGAW 2009: RGIC Open Houses

For the second year, RGAW 2009 will feature Open Houses in the AGLC’s Responsible Gambling Information Centres (RGICs). While RGIC representatives always welcome casino patrons to their centres, they play 'capital H' Host during RGAW, complementing their usual conversations and demonstrations about responsible gambling with special RGAW bonus give-aways, including lip balms, environmental tote bags, handy fridge magnet lists and piggy banks.

If you are a casino patron, you’ll find the information interesting and enlightening. Get tips on how to gamble responsibly, take the self-tests to find out whether you already know how to gamble responsibly and understand and assess your own gambling behaviour. An excellent video being run by the representatives clearly explains the odds and randomness of gambling and with a jar of marbles the RGIC representatives further demonstrate and de-mystify gambling odds. Working with the casino patron’s input, and using a weight and scales, the reps explore the role that balance, or a lack of it, plays in your gambling behaviour.
